Adobe Express includes powerful text effect tools you can use to create stylized text treatments for your yearbook. Here’s how to use them:
- Open a canvas in Adobe Express from the art library or from within Page Design. Add a text frame, choose a font and color, and type your text.
- With the text frame selected, click the Effects tab on the left panel.
- Shadows: Choose from shortcut shadow presets (glow, drop shadow, etc.). Use the toggle controls to change the text color and shadow color. For more control, click Custom to adjust blur, distance, and angle individually.
- Shapes: Click View All under Shapes to see both Basic and Decorative options:
- Basic shapes place a colored block, circle, or other shape behind your text. Use toggles to change color, adjust opacity, and resize. The Cutout option punches the text through the shape to show whatever’s behind it.
- Decorative includes speech bubbles, frames, sunbursts, and more. Size them carefully to keep content within your canvas bounds.
- To remove an applied shape, click the single control under Basic that strips all shape effects.
- Before publishing: Click away from your text and set the background to No Fill (transparent). Click Publish to send the finished graphic back to your eDesign library.
- Note: Generative AI text effects require an Adobe subscription and are not available within eDesign.
