When one user is editing a page, the page will be locked to other users. eDesign only allows one person at a time to edit a page so that one person doesn’t save over another person’s work. If a page is open for editing, when I look at the page thumbnails, I’ll see a padlock icon. This means that the page is locked for editing by another user. If I hover my cursor over the padlock icon, I’ll see who has the page locked. If I look at the assignments panel, I’ll also see a note that the pages are locked along with the staff member’s name.
If a page remains locked when it shouldn’t be, the advisor can click to force unlock the page. If a user really does have the page open at the time, the page design session will end for that user when the page is unlocked by the advisor. Users can also force unlock pages that are locked by them. So if it says the page is locked by you, you can click to break that lock and open the page.
