There are three types of tags: topic tags, keywords, and name tags, all found in the Tags panel in the library. Topic tags are a master list created by the adviser and editors. This master list should be used by all staff members to organize all photos. Two important rules: always tag a photo when you upload it — don’t wait until later — and always use the topic tags the adviser and editors created. This ensures everyone uses the same organizational structure and makes it easy for the entire staff to find images. Keywords add information specific to a photo, such as the game or class at which it was taken; they’re for storing info rather than organizing. Name tags are available after the adviser imports a master list and are used to identify people in photos.
When an upload completes, eDesign asks if you want to tag the images. Click Tag Images Now — all other images are hidden and only your newly uploaded images are shown, all selected, so you can easily tag them at once by topics, keywords, or people. Tagging options are also available for images uploaded inside Page Design.
