Preference Options

  • Page Margins: adjust margin guides if needed
    • Most schools leave these at the defaults.
  • Columns: set the number of columns per page and spacing between them
    • Leave it set to 1 if you don’t use columns.
  • Page Grid: a graph-paper background for aligning elements
    • Turn grid on to have it appear by default when a page opens.
    • Set grid size: 1 pica, ½ pica, or ¼ pica
  • Swiss Grid: activates the specialized grid for the Square One design approach
    • Automatically adjusts margin settings to match the grid.
  • Snapping: controls whether objects snap to the grid lines
    • It’s recommend to keep snapping on because it makes aligning elements easier.
  • New text frames: by default new frames fill with placeholder text
    • Change this if you want empty text frames as the default instead.
  • Adobe Image Editor: on in all books by default
    • Deselect this here if you want to disable the integration
  • Spread Control: choose if you want to control pages individually or as one spread
    • You can adjust this setting for individual pages on your ladder.
  • Staff Catalog Access: by default staff members can view catalog, but not activate assets
    • Change this setting if you want to enable staff to activate assets from catalog.
