Understanding the Early Days Calculation

Deadlines Widget on the Home Screen

• The Deadlines widget on the eDesign home screen shows your progress on each deadline.
• Completed deadlines automatically display how many early or late days were earned.
• In-progress or overdue deadlines show a calculator icon for estimating early/late days.

Using the Deadline Calculator

1. Click the calculator icon on an in-progress deadline.
2. Enter the date you expect to submit the remaining pages for that deadline.
3. Click Calculate — eDesign shows how many early or late days you would earn for that submission date.
4. Try different dates to plan the best time to submit.

Pages submitted early before a deadline earn a prorated number of early days — even partial early submission counts.

Total Calculator

• If you have one or more in-progress or late deadlines, a Total Calculator appears at the bottom of the widget.
• Click it to see a snapshot of your current total — eDesign calculates as if all open deadlines were completed today and shows the combined early/late day total across the entire book.
