When to Use This Feature
- Use when flowing multiple grade levels in a single portrait group and you want to show each person’s grade alongside their name.
- Options include: numeric grade (e.g., “9”), class name (e.g., “Freshmen”), or custom text (e.g., “Class of 2027”).
Preparing Your Data
- Go to the Book module → Edit → Portrait Flow → create a new flow.
- Name the flow (e.g., “Underclassmen”) and choose to flow portraits.
- Under Grades, check all grade values to include — including variants (e.g., check both “9” and “09” if both appear in your data).
- Click Next.
Setting Up the Flow
- In the Text area, choose Grade as the additional field to flow.
- Set the character style for grade designations.
- Set the separator between name and grade (e.g., a comma).
- In the grade table, change how each grade value displays:
- Change “09” to “9” for consistency
- Type “Freshmen”, “Sophomores”, etc. to display class names instead of numbers
- Type “Class of 2027” or other custom text.
- Click Live Preview to verify the layout.
- Click Flow Portraits to apply.
