Aligning Objects

The alignment commands make it easy to line up multiple objects on your page. Whether you’re arranging photos, shapes, or text frames, you can align them perfectly along their edges or centers.

Accessing Alignment Tools

Select two or more objects on your page. In the control panel, click to expand the arrange panel. The alignment options appear in the center with icons that visually indicate what each command does.

Horizontal Alignment

You have three horizontal alignment options.

  • Align Left Edges lines up all selected objects along their leftmost points.
  • Align Right Edges aligns along the rightmost points.
  • Align Horizontal Centers centers all objects along their middle vertical line, so the centers line up.

Vertical Alignment

Similar options exist for vertical alignment.

  • Align Top Edges lines up the tops of all selected objects.
  • Align Bottom Edges lines up their bottoms.
  • Align Vertical Centers aligns them along their middle horizontal line.

TIP: Look at the icons, not the names. The visual representation of each alignment option shows you what it will do.
